Review on Rangoon

Combination of Vishal Bhardwaj, Gulazar, Shahid, Kangna and Saif becomes very intensive and intoxicating. After seeing Bhardwaj's film, the hangover of thoughts remains in our mind for so long. His films are much more than films. His films contains that depth that without any technology they become 7D or 9D type film.

Means only by his unique art of cinematography he can create certain atmosphere.

It is a picaresque (Poojaba thanks form helping me in recalling this word) journey of Juliya (i.e. kangana) from mental adolescence to pure maturity. Though she is shown as physically grown girl from the beginning of the movie, she is "kid" in starting. The same adress Rusi(i.e. Saif) used to use for her i.e. "kido". And she goes on accept it also, till she got the conversion from infant to adult. and the dialogue by Navab (i.e. Shahid) becomes the cause of this conversion.

"तुम्हे मारने की जरुरत ही नहि है,

तुम अपने ही जीस्ममें दफन हो चूकी हो."

Dialogues pinch us directly. each and every frame is significant. the scene of melting candle or the conversation of Navab with the Japanise soldier... everything is equally appealing.

World War II નો સમય એની સંપૂર્ણ ભયાવહતા સાથે રચવામાં ભારદ્વાજ સફળ નીવડ્યા છે. Richard McCabe નું એક અંગ્રેજ તરીકેનું character આપણા મનમાં પૂરતી નફરત પેદા કરે છે. (અને ઓલમોસ્ટ દોઢ સદી સુધી આવાઓના ગુલામ રહ્યા એની શરમ પણ !)

દરેક વખતે ભારદ્વાજની ફિલ્મો સાથે થાય છે એમ આ ફિલ્મ પણ વિચારશીલ વર્ગ વધાવશે અને વિચારશૂન્ય વર્ગ વખોડશે. જે લોકો માત્ર લવસ્ટોરી તરીકે જોવા જશે એ નિરાશ થશે અને કોઇ પૂર્વધારણા વગર જોવા જશે એ accomplish અને satisfied).
